Conference Weekend: A Spiritual Feast

I find myself looking forward to General Conference this weekend with great anticipation, and not just because I will finally get to spend a Sunday with my husband. (I can even sit next to him if the urge strikes me!)

The real pull, of course, is that I get to hear from President Monson and other church leaders on topics they have prayerfully selected. Their worthiness to receive divine inspiration, supported by their personal righteousness and willingness to serve as witnesses of Jesus Christ, means that I can listen with spiritual ears for the answers and personal revelation I need and am seeking in my own life. It never fails. If I am prayerful in my preparation, the questions I have will be answered and the problems in my life will be addressed. Resolution, of course, is still up to me.

Listening to a prophet's voice is always the greatest blessing of conference, but I also love receiving the words of our apostles and other church leaders. Four of my very favorite speakers (besides President Monson) are Elder Holland, Elder Eyring, Elder Bednar, and Elder Uchtdorf. For some reason, their messages seem to go right to my heart.

If you are not a member of my church, you are most welcome to hear the conference talks for yourself. The meetings will be held on Saturday and Sunday at 9 AM and 1 PM PST. You may even be able to find the conference sessions on one of the religious channels provided by your cable system or satellite dish. If not, you can certainly stream them here.

It all begins tomorrow, and I can't wait!

=)

It is twice a year that I dearly miss having cable. At least I can see it streaming online.

What I got of it was good... but didn't catch much with all the noise form the little ones. I look forward to reading it in the Ensign:)
