From the Heart

(for ryan)
©2018 susan noyes anderson

city beat
city heat
miles of pavement
pulsing feet

dirty asphalt
ocean breeze
misty mornings
nights to seize

sidewalk sleepers
suited men
money makers
born again

mission district
nob hill flair
sunset, castro
union square

trolley crossings
up-and-downs
beeping, dinging
magic sounds

snaky streets
bridge of gold
arching, soaring
bonny, bold

gritty, graceful
work of art
san francisco
from the start

(bring your dreams
leave your heart)

Wow, that was an awesome way to describe a visit to San Francisco. I remember visiting there and I could relate to all the words. Oh, how wonderful your poetry is. I am so happy to see you posting, because I have been worried about you. I hope you are feeling much better. Send me a update!
Sending loving thoughts, prayers and hugs your way!

I've never been to San Francisco but I think you've captured it's essence in that poem. Every city or small town has a beat and poem somewhere in it. I love this one and hope to visit that city one day and feel your words when I do! Take care Sue, hope all is well with you and your family.

OH this reads like song lyrics, Sue! I must agree with those above, having recently been to San Francisco, you captured it so well!

Your blog has given me that thing which I never expect to get from all over the blog.
