I'm always happy to see Jenny's Saturday Centus roll around again, and this week I am having a bit of fun with the prompt (shown below in red). We're supposed to use no more than 103 words, which puts me at five too many, but I'm hoping Jenny will grant me a little poetic license...

The Sage Speaks
©2012 Susan Noyes Anderson
You hold forth in your wisdom
as if truth began with you,
each argument refuted by
your worthy point of view.
No other man's experience
remotely matches yours.
Let others curb their tongues or
be revealed as crashing bores.
Why must they prattle on and on,
when your premise is clear?
These cretins ought to show respect
and lend a listening ear.
Let every upstart quaff the cup
of knowledge at your feet.
May all drink deeply of your words
and find the nectar sweet.
But as for me, I must defer,
though all the world's in awe.
For every time you speak, I fear
that I hear blah, blah, blah.

Oh my, I too can hear it just as she does....perhaps the song "He's so vain" was all about him! :)
I hear blah, blah also but that's probably because of my cold but great take on the prompt.
hope you have a sweet day.
You are so talented, Sue!!
Hahahaha! I see Karen picked up on my song on my blog! Once again, Sue, you have displayed your skill with words!!!
haha...there are those that when they talk all i hear is blah blah blah, but then again that has more to do with them because some i could sit and listen to all night...i think it is the attitude or airs that sets me off...smiles.

I really liked this. I can totally see myself sharing this with my significant one. Very nicely done.
Yes! Don't we all know someone just like this?!! Great one, Sue!

Wonderful poetry. I can hear the blah, blah, blah loud and clear. :)
Oh I hope no one thinks of me that way when I speak. But I know I have felt that way at times about others!
Oh yeah, I know a few of those blah blah blah people myself. I really did get a laugh out of this one!
Oh Sue, another fun post. I am smiling on this one. I know a few indiviuals just like this. One of them was an Uncle that passed away many years ago. Now I wish he was around so I could listen to his stories more intently.
Blessings to you and I hope you are feeling better.
Oh Sue.
Your blah, blah, blah is fabulous!
