As Bleakness Bows to Bounty: On Hope

Oh tree, whose barren limb no comfort gives,
whose nakedness no calming color brings,
cover in blossoms every soul that lives––
and nest, in every heart, a bird that sings.

I love your tree - it's beautiful! Don't you just love it when everything busts out in buds and flowers? Even a rainy day is more cheerful when there's a pretty red camelia outside your window!

The tree is actually my neighbor's across the street. I see it from my kitchen window. It is absolutely beautiful!

that is so cool! i was just looking at a tree in our church parking lot that i photographed last fall. it was the most beautiful orange red. now it is covered in those wonderful popcorn looking flowers. soon it will be green. it made me appreciate the seasons and how much i love them all!

Now that our spring is ending, it's nice to be reminded that the rest of the country is just beginning this beautiful time of year. I should have gardenias for about another week, then everything will blister and shrivel to its summer dormancy. Viva la Spring!

So I came over from Beck's blog Frog and Toad after reading your poems and being completely impressed and Laughing my butt off. May I idolize you? lol... I'm kidding of course but I did LOVE both of your poems.

It boosts my faith again.
I wanted to let you know how much I appreciated your comments on my blog the other day. I'm so grateful to have met wonderful wise people who give me timeless and true advice and thoughts. I treasure that gift.
Thank you.

I love this!
Something about the fact that it isn't even your tree makes it all the more beautiful to me. Your reference to hope really struck me. The fact that we have the ability to find it from resources beyond our own. Beautiful.
