Nesting, Resting, and Heroes

Nesting, Resting, and Heroes

Nesting in a tree,
resting on its roots,
red-caped superhero sporting
camouflage boots.

Hanging on a moment,
dangling in time,
soaking up the soft green sky scene,
fruit of the climb.

Face the future squarely, boy.
Grace it with the past.
Wield those superpowers wisely.
Let the sweetness last.

PS. Due to all the strangeness with Blogger lately, and in case it's true that the Follower option will not be with us much longer, please take a minute to scroll down to just above my Playlist and follow me on Linky Friends in the right sidebar so I don't lose track of you! Thanks!!

Great poem, as usual, and I could just picture it in my mind. So, if you hadn't pictured Bryce nesting up in that tree, I could see the whole scene in my mind. Your words are so descriptive.

Kids want to grow up fast, while we want to stretch those sweet years out as long as we can. Honestly, time flies for me. I can really appreciate your words about wanting those great childhood days to just last and last and last.

Fun poem and very sweet. The pic is adorable. I love it when my Grandkiddos play dress up. It's so fun to see them try and figure out who they are and what heroes inspire them.

Lovely - just lovely. For every grandmother of a superhero in rubber boots, this poem has to have touched a chord.

This was sweet, Sue. Nothing sweeter than little boys playing Superhero.

You wrote such a beautiful poem for your little darling grandson. Childhood is so precious ...we are lucky to be grandparents so that we can appreciate it the second time around!

I love the photo and your poem! My kids know that I (for some reason) see a tree with huge branches and I get the urge to want to climb it! :o) I would be sitting right up there with that sweet little hero :o)

Blessings & Aloha!
Oh dear Sue, I did NOT want to believe that there is yet another change with blogging...I like routines and familiarity, since it takes me a while to learn this computer/tech stuff! but I joined you on Linky (Brent is a gem for creating this!) and pulled up my "big girl pants" and joined and posted on my sidebar too... Please stop by and follow along on my blog with Linky followers. (I still dont get how to put up my thumbnail image instead of the orange guy!)

Cute poem! GFC will continue to work for Blogspot, but won't for non-blogspot users. This was what I heard last. Have you heard something new? Are you doing the Google+? Isigned on for that, but can't see it being very beneficial to me at the moment. Oh well, thanks for visiting and have a neat weekend! :)

Esther Joy said...

That was a beautiful poem, ...and the picture so aptly portrayed it!

Hello.
I hope he's not too high up that he might fall.
Poem & photo compliment each other.

GFC is not doing well for Google & will be withdrawn for non-blogger sites from 1st March. Based on what I've been reading, bloggers will still have it for a few more months after March 1, but they will remove it eventually. Google wants us to use Google+ and "circles". I've just created a G+ page for my blog.

Thanks for sharing & visiting.
