Be Mine! Pretty Peas??

The Matlock is picking Nonna's fertile brain again for the prompt this week, so I'm peapared to give it my best. 100 words...plus a pea pod pic. (The prompt, as befits the subject matter, is in green.)

Be Mine. Pretty Peas??
©2012 Susan Noyes Anderson

You'll always be the one for me;
we're two peas in a pod.

So plump, so round...You're all I see.
My soft, green heart is awed.

You've really got me in the soup
(I hope it's not split pea.)

'Cause I could never split from you.
I'm your sweet chickpea, see?

For you, I'd leave the stalk behind.
Pick me! You peel my skin.

You photosynthesize my mind.
Lock, stalk and leaf, I'm in.

Even your chlorophyll is hot!
(No one does green like you.)

You're in my every squishy thought...
my pea-brained dream come true.

Your wording is brilliant, Sue. (e.g., "You photosynthesize my mind.") I love every line.

This is nothing sort of terrific, Sue. I really got a big laugh(not just a chucle} out of this one. I'll never quite know just how your furtile brain works, but it was working overtime on this.

If I live to be a hundred(hopefully, hopefully) I will never understand how you managed to perfect your incredible talent.

I agree with Ames, you should be making tons of money with your ability to write these poems so prolifically.
