Middle of In Between

©1994 by Susan Noyes Anderson, Lollipops Magazine

I am stuck
in the middle
of in between.

My eyes are not blue,
but they’re not really green.

If you’re short, I look tall.
If you’re tall, I look short.

I am neither the best nor
the worst at my sport.

I’m much more than a baby,
much less than a teen…

Smack dab
in the middle
of in between.

(Note: These are not my grandchildren but just
Flicker photos selected to illustrate the poem.)

No matter what age, we're all stuck in between something.

I always wanted to be short, yet I am not tall. I am somewhere in the middle too. Sometimes its good, but sometimes we middle people want to be something special. Thats the trick of growing up - to find your specialty and make the most of it!

Well I for one, definitely know these are not your grandchildren. (yours are much cuter)no offense to the ones here from Flicker.

There have been times I think we have all felt stuck in the middle. :(

I am definitely a 'middle of in between'. This was wonderful Sue.

Your posts are always so marvelous...they just make me heart feel ... ummm... musical? Okay, that's a bad "M" word, but my brain is not working today!

Thanks for linking.

I just read your last two posts, and you amaze me with your versatility, my friend. I know that drug post came from a tender spot in your heart, and that's why it was so fantastic.

What a cute poem about being in-between things! I love the way you can pull something so whimical such as this out of thin air or at least it seems so to me. You're really clever with words. =D
