The Healing Power of Yosemite

It isn't always easy to be happy.

We all have days when life gets really hard.

Troubles come. Sometimes to us,

and sometimes to those we love.

People I love are having hard times just now.

Sickness and sadness weighing down their hearts.

Today, my own feels weighed down with them.

Too many sorrows and too hard to bear.

My spirit is reminding me how very small I am

in the scheme of big things.

Not that I am unimportant

but that there is a larger picture...

a perspective that stretches far beyond my own

a Power that rules the universe for good

and that if I am small in comparison

maybe my problems are, too...

and the problems of those I love.

Because God is watching us.

With purpose. And symmetry.

And a plan we can trust.

He knows what we need most.

Even when we don't.

And that makes us happy.

And hopeful. And whole.

Trouble comes, and trouble goes.
The river flows, the river flows.

I love those beautiful pictures with a atsmósfera of pure nature, I am surprised how you can live with that tree roots clinging to the rock. Greetings.

I'm sorry your heart is heavy right now. We hurt when our loved ones hurt. I like what you said about God watching us. Last night just before going to bed I flipped on my IPOD and heard that older song "God is watching us from a Distance." I think it's by Bette Mitler, not sure. Anyway, I'm struggling with something right now too and it was a comforting little reminder before I went to sleep.

amen...life can def come at you hard at times...and i def know about feeling the weight of others...know it is nothing we can bear on our own...and most of the time little we can do...but give it over to one who can

"The Lord compensates the faithful for every loss. That which is taken away from those who love the Lord will be added unto them in His own way. While it may not come at the time we desire, the faithful will know that every tear today will eventually be returned a hundredfold with tears of rejoicing and gratitude."

Elder Joseph B. Wirthlin, The Law of Compensation, Oct 2008

I'm glad you found peace in Yosemite. Don't worry - everything will be alright, for you and those you love. You will look back and wonder at how much everyone grew from the hardships they have faced.

Sigh.... Beautiful!!

I grew up going to Yosemite - It is definately a happy, peaceful, healing place for me!

I'm sad that the words to your post indicate that everything is not well with those you love. I hope peace comes soon.

That was a collection of beautiful thoughts, and made me think about the very small place my little problems have in the grand scheme of things. They still feel like big problems, though, don't they? Luckily we are never forgotten by our Heavenly Father, and He always finds a way to strengthen us and comfort us while still teaching us. I hope you find your comfort soon. It makes me sad to think of you being troubled.

I need to take a trip to Yosemite.

I must say though, that I felt the peaceful, calming feeling just looking at those beautiful pictures. No wonder it is such a favorite place to go with every member of your family.

Reading the beautiful words was an experience it itself. How those words just flow from you so perfectly will always amaze me. You can so often calm me with just your words. I love you, Sue.

Thank you for reminding us of the healing power of God's creation. My favorite is of the yellow trees -- a happy color! Praying for you and your family during this season when you are struggling. Hoping you'll continue to find peace in the God who formed Yosemite -- and us.

The last two lines - inspired. I've said them over a few times and will take them forward with me into the rest of the week.

Such a lovely and inspiring thought . . . love the symbolism of those things that are larger than life and their grandeur that makes us feel insignificant yet with a knowledge that the Father is aware of each one of us.
