Orange Twine Is More than Fine

Have I got a super-cool treat for you?!
Yes, indeed...I surely do!!

My old friend Katie––creative artist, photographer, and blogger extraordinaire of You Had to Be There––has a brand new Etsy shop called orange twine. I think you will agree that OT is a revelation! What it reveals are "rescued" vintage items, mostly found in Ohio, where her cute husband is a dental student.

Now, those of you who live in the midwest are well aware that there's no better place to find old stuff than wandering through small towns, rustic barns, and garage or yard sales in middle America. And I can't tell you how much fun I had wandering through Katie's site. Best of all is that when I finally decided which item to order, it came to me wrapped in...you guessed it...orange twine. (Oh, how I love the truly artistic people of this world!) In Katie's case, she comes by it honestly; her mom is a long-time friend of mine who can decorate a house better than any interior designer you could name...and it all just comes naturally to her.

My suggestion to you? Hop, jump, or leap over to orange twine immediately and let your fingers do the walking. You'll be glad you did!

=)

PS. Update on Todd's interview. Thanks for all your prayers and good wishes. He feels like it went "fine." Now, the waiting begins. A few people will get acceptances in December, but most will find out in January or February. The rest will be told in March or even beyond. *sigh* (Back to pins and needles...)
;)

Sue, I'm been ridding myself of treasures for years. If I go over there, I may come back a raving lunatic.

Glad your son thinks things went well.

Super cute stuff. I wonder why it is that those really creative people seem to have more than their fair share of the creative mojo?

Oh my goodness, I am in heaven! I just came back from her sight, and I have to say, I love that she displays her jewelry on oranges! How adorable is that? And the books! And the clothing! And the trinkets!!! I especially like the prices. And since my birthday is this month... I may have to subtly hint (send him a link with the words for my birthday)to my husband. Thanks so much for introducing me. And orange twine is just too delicious, I am a little bit giddy about it now. I am going to have to go find some!

I had to pop over to her site...heck, she's an Ohio girl now...if only for a bit while her hubby is in school..It's a great site and her prices are really good and of course the merchandise is good too! I still laugh at the 80's being called "vintage"...I'm really vintage too I guess! Good luck to your son. I hope he gets the med school he wants!

I hopped on over there because another etsy shop is always a good thing (said the etsy buyer with over 400 purchases under her belt).

What an eclectic haul she has! I'll be checking back in there. :)

I know - isn't it such a cute site? Now that the vacation is over and I have a little more time, I plan to have a serious look at the wares.
So glad that the interview went well. I've got my fingers crossed (and all my toes) for him! I just helped Zach write his letters of introduction for surgery and psychiatry. He got two letters inviting him to interview for psychiatry - YAY!

What a long wait! Good he feels he did fine...that's usually a pretty good indication.

btw, I'm on Google Reader now if that makes it any easier for you.

Now I am off the look at the orange site...

Lots of interesting things....of course, they don't seem all that old to me. I guess my stuff is more valuable than I thought.

Is this the Katie that was such a close friend of the boys when they were growing up? She is very talented.
