Skin Care: I Don't Like Crows or Their Feet

Okay, ladies. (Gents, too, if you're so inclined.) Remember when I wrote this post lamenting the demise of the original line of Principal Secret face care products? I had used them for years and was afraid to try something new on my allergy-prone skin, but many of you were kind enough to offer your suggestions on finding a good replacement. With that in mind, I'm taking a minute to share with you my brand new beauty regimen. Granted, it's trop cher (expensive as all get-out), but I have officially splurged. Hey...since I don't spend money on make-up, I'm entitled, right? Uh, yeah. (I'm sure my husband would agree.) Not.

Be that as it may, I have started using the Complex Organics skin-care system by Ada Thibiant. My skin looks and feels great, and I pretty much love the stuff. In fact, I almost look forward to performing the whole face-washing ritual every morning, a practice that normally bores me to tears. (Granted, I am the most impatient person ever when it comes to the mundane ministrations required by the beauty care aspect of personal upkeep.) However, I am pretty dedicated to making every reasonable attempt to keep my skin as soft and supple as aging will allow, particularly in light of my aversion to make-up. Let's face it; at 57, I need all the help I can get.

I called Thibiant's spa initially, and they were happy to send me some free samples. (Free is an excellent price, so you may want to phone them and get a few for yourself.) Even if you have more sense than to actually purchase Mme. Thibiant's wares at such exorbitant prices, you will surely enjoy her gentle yet effective products. THAT I guarantee!

I should also mention that the products ship free and have a return-in-30-days-and-your-money-back guarantee.

=)

PS. Now if I could just find something that really works for thinning hair...

I, too am anti makeup with SENSITIVE skin. May have to give this a look see. Have you tried Nioxin on your hair? Totally changed my life. Okay--that might be a bit much. Or were you just joking? I am such a nerd--I can never tell...

I have been losing my hair at an uneasy rate since I had Eve. But my friend introduced me to NuSkin (I hate to even say the word because of the multi-level marketing crap) and its Nutriosol shampoo. My stylist commented on how I have a 1-inch layer of regrowing hair, and I've noticed that the scrawny follicles are beefing up. I can't believe the difference. And it's not too pricey--$16 a bottle. Worth it, in my book.

Awesome! That is so exciting for you. I am going to have to document all your findings for when I am older and have to worry about it also. Good luck with the hair. I read that an increase of zinc in your diet can help with thinning hair.

Thanks for the recommendation - my face cream is no where to be found lately!

Oh my! This sounds great--I have super sensitive skin--SUPER sensitive. I wonder if they have anything for me that would help me with my current state of total face break-out...

You are so lucky to be able to try new things on your skin. I would have been terrified to do that. The only thing I can put on my face is water. Everything, just everything makes my face break out in a rash. I am so alergic. I'm glad that it is helping you though. And, by the way, if you can fine anything that will help your thinning hair, let me know. Maybe my scalp wouldn't be so alergic, but with my luck, who knows?

It is good when you can find something that works really well.
Funny, but I think that different skin products work differently on people.
I always wondered how so many companies could stay in business till I figured that out. Ha Ha.
I was using one last year that gave me pimples - at 45! What??
So I had to change and I love what I use now but my friend still uses the other and loves it.

Glad you found something good :D

That's why I'm willing to pay a little extra, Cherie, because practically everything I put on my face breaks it out, yet I'm at the stage in life now where using a moisturizer is a must.

Most of my friends are able to put whatever they choose on their face and be jut fine. I wish I could do the same...
