Journey into Narcissism

Several days ago, Momza (one of my highly-valued followers) tagged me in one of those "8 things" memes that always feels rather like an exercise in narcissism. I am responding in her honor, flying in the face of my deep-seated fear of boring you all silly. So, this one's for you, my friend...

8 Things I'm Looking Forward To:

1. my next meal (always)
2. my birthday this month (57th, whew!)
3. getting home, finally
3a. hugging my husband when I get home, finally (after 2 weeks!)
4. spending the next couple of days with my little sis
5. more grandchildren (don't worry, Heather...it's Karin's turn)
6. 200th post book giveaway (coming soon, so get ready!!)
7. our annual Newport Beach family reunion
8. Memorial Day weekend mini-reunion at my mom's

8 Things I Did Yesterday (Yesterday = Wednesday):

1. slept in (delightful!)
2. bought way too many things from Junky Heirloom
3. lounged around my sister's house, shamelessly luxuriating
4. wandered around same sister's house thinking how cool it looks

5. luxuriated some more
6. ordered tri-tip and chicken combo at Wood Ranch
7. watched American Idol with inordinate glee (Bye-bye, Danny!)
8. went to bed at a decent hour for first time in days

8 Things I Wish I Could Do:

1. actually enjoy cooking
2. soak up UV rays without negative consequences
3. live near ALL of my children/grandkids
4. be a go-for-the-gusto glutton who never gains weight
5. run a 5K without expiring
6. write better-than-serviceable music for my own lyrics
7. grant each of my children 3 wishes without a monkey's paw result
8. stay mentally sharp into my old age (or next week, for that matter)

8 Shows I Watch:

1. So You Think You Can Dance
2. American Idol
3. Dancing with the Stars
4. Gray's Anatomy (ridiculous season finale, by the way)
5. Private Practice
6. Brothers and Sisters
7. CNN, Fox, MSNBC (when I can bear it)
8. Award Shows: Oscars, Grammys, etc.

8 People I Tag:

Why don't I just let those who want to be tagged consider themselves so? (And the reverse...)

As for a picture of me right now? Well, how about something a little more attractive than yours truly...?

...yet rather similar...

Really? A blue fish? You are always so clever. I don't think I could come up with 8 things in a lot of those categories. My mind just doesn't get creative. Welcome back home.

Yay for narcissism. I loved reading about you. Your sister's house really is awesome. I hope you have a wonderful day!

Perfect. Every. Single. Bit.
Thanks for indulging.

That fish was hilarious! Your sis has some pretty impressive decorating skills.
And I had to quietly think of you when Danny was voted off. My kids were all screaming and dancing about Kris still . . . .

I know what you mean about the sleeping in. For decades we couldn't because of the kids. I'm really lovin' this empty nester thing. I don't sleep in often but I love knowing I can if I want to.

I loved reading all of that! We have a lot in common, actually - maybe that's why I enjoyed reading it so much! You made me hungry for Wood Ranch tri tip and chicken.
