Talent Is in the Eye of the Beholder

What a night at ye olde talent show! I laughed so hard my face was bright red when I got home. (No picture, sorry.) But I have LOTS of other pictures...and a video, too, as per the request made by several of you yesterday. I aim to please. =)

The show opened with a well-named band...
Ampersandman. (Gotta love it!)

Next up was a classical guitar solo,

Followed by a pair worthy of Dancing with the Stars

And a hula expert who is definitely ready for primetime.

Loved this Fiona Apple-ish performance,

And so did the satisfyingly large audience.

A bingo break was much appreciated by all,

As were the impressive artistic talents expressed.

This dude photographs the stars,

While this one makes the coolest comics ever.

And Christina Sheehan channels Rembrandt...

just as Trina Terry makes of childhood a masterpiece.

Back to the show, where Cry Me a River took an odd turn,

And a French song was crooned by un homme tres beau...

While la belle Juliet (as in Romeo and) rocked the house,

And the mimes...er...well...they mimed.

This hunk of heart throb wowed the ladies

And these hunks of hysteria-inducing humanity wowed
THE ENTIRE WORLD AS WE KNOW IT.

Meanwhile, the crust(s) on this twin sandwich will soon wow
England and Scotland...on their missions!

(I didn't get good photos of the pianists because the piano was too tall,
but Josh and Michael were both terrific.)

***TO THE PERFORMERS: Hope I got everybody. If not, forgive me...I tried!!

And last but certainly not least:

Okay now, you're going to have to be a little bit patient with this video, because the emcees say a few words before introducing our Monta Vista Ward Mermen. You'll stare at the curtain for a few extra seconds before they make their big entrance, but I promise the wait will be worth your while. Or you can skip past it if you're in a hurry, to 1:35 on the counter. (By the way, my charming husband is on the far right.)

Enjoy, my friends! (heehee)

...AND A HAPPY MAY DAY TO YOU ALL!

Funny. I am so proud to call that man my brother in law. He and Jordan should get together for some interpretive dance. :)

We get a new Bishop tomorrow. I wonder, if I showed him this, if he and his new counselors (with the Elders quorum presidency} could be convinced to "break the ice" in this manner. It would be an interesting start.

I'm ao glad. Sue, that you got your video hookup working. The video was hysterical!! I love that Dave and his gang were so uninhibited. The audience were so appreciative, and we appreciated it too! Just wish we had been there to enjoy the whole show. From the pictures, it looks like you got a lot of great talent to participate. You never know with young people whether they will be willing to perform! It must have been a very successful evening and you and Dave are to be contratulated!!!! So CONGRATULATIONS.

Tell Dave to stick to golf, although his technique is quite impressive.

Thank you so much for the laughs! That was great. Super cool, "real" people...I really believe that can make or break a singles' ward!! Nicely done.

Oh that was too funny! it looks like it was so much fun. I was trying to nurse my baby while watching the schyronized swimmers and she wanted to see why I was laughing. Quite the experience,I tell you what.
