All in the Family

Like father...

Like son.

If it weren't for the fading colors, I wouldn't be able to tell the difference between my son and grandson in many photos, especially from a side view. In fact, the strong resemblance reminds me of a poem I wrote a few years ago.

I've got the nose of Uncle Gene,
the eyes of Grandpa Fred,
the mouth of Aunt Virginia, and
the chin of Cousin Ted,
the hair of Grandma Applegate,
the Okelberry ear...
I hope they never take them back.
My head would disappear!

SPEAKING OF FAMILIES, HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO TODD!
(our youngest and most camera-shy son)

(but he's smiling in this one!)

We love you, Toddy.

I love looking at old snapshots - takes you right back, doesn't it? That pair of images was fun. And you know what else is fun? Todd's birthday! Hope it's a happy one full of good news! When do you leave for Cancun?

It's so fun to find photos that connect the generations like that. I like your poem too!

That is such a cute poem! And it is uncanny how much kids can look like their parents. Nice, though, that they can share a love for the same activity.

That is so cool that you found pictures of them doing the same thing! Treasures indeed! Cute poem--I told it to my 12 year old old and it really made her giggle.
Happy birthday to Todd!

That poem is too cute!
I like father like son pictures...Don't you wish we could have taken as many pictures of our kids as parents are able to do now? :)

What a great comparison shot! Love the poem. I think about all the things I could have inherited..a great-grandfather was a fabulous artist..my grandmother was a wonderful cook...my Dad was a really fun person and writer..the list goes on. But then I realize I got none of those..nope, I got other things that must have come from some weird DNA on our family tree!

Amazing how much they look alike!
Your poem is GREAT, Sue. It sings to me. I'm going to read this one to the girls tonight--they like poetry and this one will work well for little ears, I think. :)

p.s. Happy Birthday to your son!
