Orange Ya Glad I Didn't Say...Orange?

Orange thrills me not at all

Except for, maybe, in the Fall

When leaves ignite to match the dawn

Then spill their colors on the lawn

To roll and rustle on the ground

With jack-0-lanterns all around.

I am not fond of orange a bit,

But candy corn is still a hit

And citrus, studded well with clove,

Rivals the fragrance of a grove.

A witching moon of orange hue

(I must admit) is pleasing, too.

I don't like orange much. It's true.

Except, of course, for when I do.

Oh, thanks, Sue! The autumn leaves gave me a moment of coolness! :)

Cute little poem :) I love the pictures you chose for the color orange. Looks like orange is best suited for autumn and Halloween and Candy Corns!

All of these orange photos are making me go crazy with longing for fall! And halloween. I loved your poem, it made me laugh. And can fall just get here already? I vote we skip August. Nothing good happens in this month!

Sweet poem and pictures. I think a lot of people feel the same way about orange lol.

Funny, because I had a fleeting thought the other day, wishing it were fall and time for Halloween. Then I felt guilty because I should enjoy summer while it's here. I love orange. It's, you know, my *color*.

SO cute!!! I loved this!

We painted our kitchen "Terra Cotta" a few years ago and it is SO orange (screams orange) that I think almost everyday, "Ugh. I want to paint my kitchen blue!" but alas, too much going on and there are other priorities.
Maybe I should just stud some oranges with cloves and put them in a bowl in my kitchen. I love oranges with cloves. :)
This made me smile.

I loved your poem,Sue! I think I like orange because Halloween was one of my favorite holidays as a child (all that free candy!) and pumpkins make me smile.

You certainly pointed out the good in orange. But it does not belong on the walls in a home. I once went to a dentist who had orange walls in his office and I never went back again.

Very clever rhyme! I love it! I like the orange moon, cloves, and that orange grove photo the best! Such wonderful photos!

Oh my gosh,Sue. I love your poem....who would think to get inspiration from the color orange? Not this girl, anyway. I loved it and I can see that lot of other people liked this post too.

I also have to tell you that reading this raised my spirits considerably, for which I am grateful, as I was feeling pretty low before. So thanks for that.

I liked the room. It made me want to eat a creamsickle. :-) The pictures were beautiful. I have never liked orange until this past year and now I love it. Not to wear, but I love it in other things.

I loved your poem. It was very cute.

I kinda feel sick reading this (even though it was great). I'm not ready for fall. Not yet. My kids are already growing too fast. Give me a few more weeks of summer to savor them. Please? ;)
