Blow Smoke

Stanley Kubrick for Look Magazine, 1949

Blow Smoke
©2013 Susan Noyes Anderson

The tension burns between us;
I contain it with a click,
give it a focal point
just inches from your lips.

And I break free––
foolproof and fireproof.
Flames lick my feet and die.
I'm incombustible.

Blow smoke.

A little bit tough, a little bit false bravado and vulnerable, and tons of smokin' hot! Nice job.

So neat!

I keep thinking I will try the Magpie Tales.

When the heck is there five extra minutes in a week, though!
