A Study: in French

Hurray! It's Saturday Centus again, thanks to Jenny Matlock and her very creative husband. This week I will add my own hundred words to a prompt from Mr. Jenny that is carefully embedded (in red) in the little story below, a cautionary tale I have created exclusively for your reading pleasure.

Here goes...

My feet nearly danced down the hall, but my friends were lagging. Why so slow of foot, mes amies? I queried silently. Would it be so difficile to cease babbling and pick up the pace?

Maybe I’d confide in Bridget after Physics. Revenge was sweetest shared. And last night had been sweet beyond description. Getting back at Liz, la petite tramp, felt absolument delicieuse. And seeing her droopy face in class today? Merveilleux!

Merde! What if somebody traced the photos back to my computer? Didn't that happen once, and the girl got caught?

Suddenly, Bridget was talking. "Did you notice Elizabeth in class this morning and how forlorn she seemed?"

Perhaps I will write her a comforting note, I thought.
My Dearest Lizardbreath Elizabeth...

(It's always wise
to cover one’s cyber tracks, non?)

Very, very clever adding the French. This was very intriguing. I also LOL when I saw the start of the note ;-) Great job.

"Dear Lizardbreath" - you caught the cattiness of certain high school girls perfectly. Loved this, especially the sprinkling of French. You painted a very clear picture with so few words - brilliant! Kathy

Revenge is sweet! You weren't a mean girl in junior high, were you? I may have known you! :)

I still don't see how you can write a wee story with just a couple of lines that need to be in it. You do have so much talent. I could never do it, that's for sure. You do have to have talent to do this and also a good imagination. Didn't I once hear you say that you didn't have enough imagination to write a complete novel? Listen girl, you could write ten novels if it were your desire! Unfortunately you never did have the urge to write a full length novel. Of course you are still young yet, so who knows?

The music made me laugh. My brother-in-law is French, and I hear stuff like that every time we're over there. Felt just link home!

it's interesting to me to see how a LOT of us returned to high school. Loved how you incorporated French into this.

One of these days you're going to have to write a novelette or short story and give us the complete story. These little snippets are torture!

Hm...what a twist! I wish that i had more time to squeeze this meme in! ...but at least I am able to take part at Ms. Jenny's Alphabe-Thursdays (well...barely, squeezing into class for that!).

Blessings Aloha!

Love the french twist. That was really clever Sue. And I like how you kept the prompt together but split it by using a new paragraph. Super clever!

Thanks for linking. I love watching the workings of your mind on these challenges.
