A tree is an ever present friend...
a warm and welcome nest...
a place to test your mettle, and
a place to take your rest.
A tree can heal you with a touch
or rock you in strong arms.
It finds the child inside of you
and shares its leafy charms.
Accept the gift. Come, find a tree.
Remember who you are.
Settle your roots in rich, brown earth
and spring up high and far.

ahhh...great shots, makes me want to go hug a tree...
I love the picture of the branches with identical roots spreading beneath. This is a good one.

Superb!!! Trees are good for the soul.
Oh dear Queen Sue, I miss reading your post as I wasn't been that active recently. This is such a wonderful post and super great captures. X
All the best,

Makes me wish I had a great big climbing tree in my yard!
what a great post. Trees are so special, and to a child, a cozy giant! {:-D
What. A lovely post Sue and those kids are adorable.
I love this poem and the kiddos pics are adorable. I remember a favorite tree I would climb as a child and also going to high and getting too scared to climb down! But trees are so healing...a walk in our "Creepy Woods" does wonders on a bad day!
We used to have a tree in our front yard growing up. I loved that tree.
Good photos. Delicious and tender portraits, very handsome.
I love trees so much. This is a beautifull poem Sue. Do you think if I wrapped my arms around a tree that it would heal me? The problem is that I don't think I have the right kind of tree in my yard.
From a dedicated tree climber - I love it! I kinda miss climbing all those trees . . .

Oh this reminded me of the love I have for trees. I lived in the trees growing up and now I love them for different reasons.
This one brings me back to my childhood. :)
A natural paradise for kids ! (or cats) lol !
Love this, but then I love trees and think that climbing into one, hugging one or just settling down at the base of a tree will soothe the worst hurt.
Great post; I was a tree climber as a kid, as were my kids, and as are my grandkids!
Just beautiful photos and thoughts. It brought back some memories of my tree climbing days. I had such a good time playing in the trees. You know Tarzan and Jane kind of dreams.
Blessings to you!
I love the photos, and the words. Trees are some of my best friends!
