Every day, we pledge the flag.
I say the words real loud.
I stand up straight and tall because
it makes me feel so proud.
My daddy is a soldier, and
the flag makes him proud, too.
He fights for what it stands for.
It stands for me and you.

That picture is so sweet. Try saying the pledge in the Tabernacle on Temple Square on the 24th of July and not have tears streaming down your face. I love saying the pledge.

So darling!! At first I read your post to say...taking the 'plunge'! But this is much better. I don't know why but more then ever I'm looking forward to this time of year. I don't think we even have plans for the 4th and I don't think this town offers much but I'm just so grateful for our country...our flag...and our freedom! I'm so glad that children are still being taught the Pledge of Allegiance too!
Sue- that is an excellent thing for a young man to do- so happy that he is so proud of his country.

Looks like the little girl has her bases covered. Even though the boys got the hand wrong, they look like they got it wrong with pride.

Wow! That really made me cry! I absolutely love this poem and it is so timely right now. I hate the people who are trying to omit {One nation}, UNDER GOD,INDIVISIBLE.......... We all knew about them trying to eliminate the "under God" but to now add indivisible is just awful. Think what it would mean to have our country divisible. I love this poem, Sue. I always get weepy whenever a patriotic song is sung, or when the flag goes by.
