Joy Ride

As I followed my husband across California yesterday to meet our son in Irvine, deliver a working car (his finally bit the dust), and find an apartment as close to his medical school as possible (love saying those words), the overriding feeling in my heart was JOY.

A few years ago, he wasn't even sure what he wanted to do with his life. (You could even say he was floundering a bit.)

Today, he's in medical school! Sorry to keep repeating that, but that's what my mind keeps doing: repeating those words, over and over. Because it's kind of a miracle, really. A blessing. And he is the one who made it all happen.

Is it almost time for the letter P? I think I feel a Pride post coming on...

;)

PS. I promise not to do any more bragging about this! (Do you believe me??)

if I would you, I brag too! it's good he finds what he wanted to do. I think most of us are still floundering no matter how many college degrees we get.

have a lovely day.

Bragging? No brag, just fact. I have a daughter-in-law who just finished her residency and is a pediatrician. I brag about her and I wasn't the one who raised her!

Did you find an apartment? Let me know if I should stop hounding people about guest houses! I did find some nice looking studios in Huntington Beach also. How exciting! His life is in full throttle.

You have every right to feel joy! Imagine how different you would feel if he had never had any floundering times. You would still be pleased, but the intensity would be so much less. Feel JOY in fact you should JUMP for JOY! And no one will mind a bit if you continue to brag! ;)

Keep on sayin' that! "My son, the doctor! Our Joey came into town on Friday because we gave him my Kia Sedona and he drove it back to Lexington.

I downloaded Grooveshark, and now I need to know how to make the music come on automatically. You are right--that site is way better than Playlist!

There are so many journeys that we take with our children...some on very bumpy roads. So when they figure out the course and go full speed ahead and succeed..well, I think pride and bragging are just the ticket! Thanks for letting us along on this ride!

You deserve to feel proud! How wonderful that your son chose this path. It is definitely going to be a long, hard road and he is going to need plenty of support from mom and dad. I've been an RN for 45 years - recently retired - and medicine has changed so much since I began. I think it takesa special sort to become a physician these days.

I think pride is definitely in a future post. And as never mentioning this again, I don't think anyone would quite believe that story. Why woudn't you talk about it for months? I am doing the exact same thing. I just keep convincing myself over and over that this wonderful thing has actually come to pass. I am sure I will NEVER quit bragging, and will until the day I die. I am so darned proud of what that kid has accomplished all by himself. He is really making a great successful life for himself and no one, but no one deserves it more than Todd.
