The Singles Ward Makes Me Happy

Having a bunch of young adults around always makes me happy. We didn't get quite the turnout we usually do (closer to 30 than 50), but a good time was had by all. And many trays o' food were consumed!

We broke out the puzzles to warm things up for the early birds.
(The guy with the paper was trying to give a spiritual thought.)

It wasn't easy to distract the puzzle-doers from their jigsaws,
but food did the trick...for most of 'em, anyway.

Hey, everyone loves a good fajita, right?

(What say you? Should I go with the chicken or the steak?)

Chicken, definitely!

She was clapping while saying, "I love food! I love food!"
(How does that girl stay so slim??)

See the guys at the far end? Too hooked on their puzzle to eat.

But these multi-taskers were chowin' down.

(Whil'st still workin' the puzzle at the end of the table...)

See what I mean?

By the time these three ate, all the good stuff was gone.
(But they did win the puzzle competition!)

The rest of the gang headed out to the garage.

Where the dart game was ON.

(And the ice cream was plentiful...)

As you can see, the garage soon became the favorite place to hang.

Aren't the accommodations lovely?

You know you love that shabby chic backdrop!

Have you ever witnessed a truly gifted thrower of darts?

If not, feast your eyes, baby!

He...and the evening...were both winners!

THANKS FOR COMING, EVERYONE

What a party what a party! Feed them and they will come, is what I always say, especially about YSAs!

PS I don't know that I've ever seen a cleaner garage than you have.

This looks like so much fun! How sweet you are to have it at your house...I'm surprised you would let a crowd in that luxurious garage...weren't you afraid of ruining the cashmere carpet! ha!

I love the energy that YA's bring into a gathering...I find a venue like your garage is the perfect spot for everyone to feel comfortable, a little more willing to have a fun time..all that yummy food didn't hurt either did it!

And this is why you're the perfect wife for a singles' ward bishop.
Me? I couldn't stand the commotion. (Maybe that's because I still have so much of my own.)

Your house seems like SUCH a fun place and the food looks A-mazing! I grew up in a small town with a couple that reminds me of you guys in that their house was always a warm gathering for young people. I hope my husband and I are that way when the kids are grown...

It seems like your parties just get better and better. I love that some of the gang were enjoying doing the jigsaw puzzles. Shocking though that they would go without food until they finished. The other team had the best idea, work it and chow down at the same time. All in all though, it looks as if it were a great success. What was the prize for the puzzle winners? As for the darts, I think it was a great idea, and it was fun to see how much everyone enjoyed being in the garage. Yes, Dave does a great job at keeping the garage clean and organized! I love that man!!
