What's All this Rain on my Parade?

Well, the big bash is on at our house for tonight with the singles ward, and it's raining! Shoot. Instead of splitting off in various directions for basketball, swimming and ping pong, the whole gang's gonna be stuck milling around our house in search of entertainment. Of course, they always love playing darts in the garage, and we'll be showing the synchronized swimming video (and others) from the talent show. So we're a'ight, right? And hey, there's dinner! That's always a good draw. If worse comes to worse, I'll pass out my infamous "strange and probing personal question" cards and make them converse. And self disclose. Yikes!

I openly admit right now that due to the kidney stone, upcoming talk (which still needs some cutting), and various pressing family-related issues, I ended up shunning all the great recipes you suggested and have ordered massive amounts of pizza. What can I say? I'm tryin' to survive here...

Happily, so far I'm succeeding!

;)

PS. Wish me luck...

Sue, I've been thinking about your Kidney stone and keeping you in my prayers. I hope you feel better soon.
I am also so impressed that despite all you've got going on that you're still having a gathering at your house! You're a trooper!

Hey, take it from me, living in a Singles Ward... being indoors is not a problem. In my ward, just give us a comfy couch and we can sit and talk and be entertained for hours. And the rain is my favorite thing, if it's not too cold they might end up outside anyway. :) It'll be fun. Hope everything goes well!

Good for you for simplifying. Get some rest. And I'm thinking of you.

Pizza saves lives and the sanity of those who buy.
Good luck!

We've had steady rain here for weeks. My house is growing green moss on the front side. I'm so tired of rain. My basement is damp. My hair is damp. It's getting old...and moldy.
Pizza is a life saver. Sometimes you gotta do what you've gotta do. :)

You know, they will have a lot of fun even though it's raining. Sometimes indoor parties can be better than the outdoor ones. I am sure you will make it entertaining. Just don't let the whole thing stress you out too much. I'm glad you didn't try to cook----that would have been just too much and hey, kids never get tired of good pizza. It is amazing though how much they can eat. It will be fun to hear how it all turned out. Your big ace in the hole is that you will have Dave. He is such a great help when it comes to dealing with the young people. They all just love being around both of you, so I am sure every one will have a super good time.

You should be sainted immediately just for not canceling the whole thing due to those rotten renal calculi! Good luck.

Oh Sue, kidney stones are so terrible. I'm sorry you're suffering with this. Your event is gonna be killer, though!

Oh my...I thought perhaps you had passed that stone! Guess not. If you have any questions feel free to email me. My 7th stone had to be blasted. It was outpatient, but I did have to have a general and be intubated. All in all though it was no biggie. Feel better!!!

You're a great hostess--to serve while you're enduring the pain of a kidney stone is beyond my capability!
Take it easy!!!

Lousy rain. I think we've had enough.
Can't they blast your stone with a laser or something? Those are so painful, I'm sorry you're having to go through it again.

We loved to play "What if." In fact, when we get together, my old college chums and I still play it. We have a couple of boxes we keep old questions and answers in, and we pull out the old ones for the last few rounds - too funny!

I hope your activity went well!

Hey I like the rain. It looks like things turned out smashingly.

Have you finished cleaning up yet?

I think pizza is always a good call when it comes to young adults. And forcing them to be inside could be a good thing... it could help with the whole getting to know each other well enough to date. And that is always an even better thing, right?
