I Like Jimmy Kimmel

I always knew Jimmy Kimmel was funny, but now I know that I like him.

Last night, for those of you who missed Jimmy Kimmel Live, the always entertaining host paid tribute to one of his sidekicks on the show, Uncle Frank (his real uncle, by the way). Uncle Frank, who passed away recently, was lovingly and humorously remembered by his nephew in a way that was so refreshingly non-Hollywood that I was kind of smitten by both of them.

Oh, I'd always thought Uncle Frank was a lovable old character, but now I think that Jimmy Kimmel HAS character...in amounts usually not seen in the entertainment industry.

You don't often come across genuine sweetness on television, and it did my heart good.

=)

What a sweet tribute that was! I don't think I have ever seen JKL, but I must say, I am impressed. He was clearly misses his crazy uncle very much. Thank you for showing me this, Sue!

Thanks for sharing this. Makes you think how you'd react if you had such a public platform. Very refreshing.

That is so cool...I'm sorry that I missed it, but glad I was asleep by the time Kimmel comes on last night! :)

Sorry we missed it. We have never watched this show, but maybe we are missing something. We'll have to check it out. It sounds like he is someone I would like. There aren't too many that I do, especially when it's late in the evening.

I think I need to start taping his show. I used to enjoy watching him back in my California days, but now having become a country bumpkin, I go to bed too early to catch his show. ;)

I've always liked Jimmy Kimmel. He's very funny, but never in a disgusting way. This was very sweet. I wish he wasn't on past my bedtime.

And thank you. You made me cry on my birthday.

Thanks for sharing that, Sue. I've heard wonderful things about Jimmy Kimmel's show (I loved him on Ben Stein's show).

I have never watched Jimmy Kimmel - I have no idea why. But I like the idea that he showed his true feelings and it was not hollywood glam.

Refreshing indeed. I don't watch the late night stuff, but every once in a while I will catch something human and heartfelt on tv that leaves me feeling good. Way to go Jimmy.

It's neat when a tribute such as this, genuine and loving is done....most especially in Hollywood. It serves as a wonderful example for the next generation as well.
