From the time I was a little girl, a mother is exactly what I wanted to be. My wish came true four times, and I am forever grateful for the children who have blessed and enriched my life beyond imagination. Being a mom isn't all fun and games, but when I look at this statue from the Nauvoo Monument to Women, I am reminded of the inexpressible joy motherhood brings. In my heart, I will always be this young woman, hand in hand with the little ones who taught me the best and most important things I know.
HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!

I too am so grateful for all the things I've learned being a Mom. I'm also grateful to have learned from Moms like you.
I just wish my waist looked like that statue mother's!
Happy Mothers Day to you, Sue!
You touched my heart today with your lovely post. I am so grateful for all of the things my mother taught and did for me. I treasure our posts they are always exceptional.
Blessings to you!
Oh how I relate. Nothing like those days when their little hands were in ours.
Happy Mother's Day to you, Sue!
It IS a lovely statue. I, too, have been blessed to be a Mom but when I look at that statue I think she looks so serene and I have a hard time remembering very many times I felt that serene:0)
But joy--I have felt that--lots of joy and wonder. Happy Mothers Day!
I forget you celebrate a differnt day for Mother's Day. We use the last Sunday in March or close by. I have no idea where this comes from but have a great Mother's Day too
that statue is so lovely and touching. so are your words! happy mothers day to you, sue!
ps-you are so sweet to always comment on my silly little blog :)
I hope you have a wonderful and relaxing Mother's Day. We have one less mother to celebrate with this year, but maybe it's my mom's turn to be the Queen Bee now. I'm trying hard to think up something extra special for her. As for me (we'll see my mom on Saturday so Sunday is for me) I'm hoping for a day of pure relaxation because I could sure use it!
Happy Mothers Day to you... love the statues.. (pure 70's style of dresses.)I visited them in 1980.
The best thing that has ever happened to me was having my daughter. She is such a joy in my life and everything she is, gives me gives me the best reason to cherish life! Love your post Sue!~Ames
I love being a mom. Nice post and I love the pictures. Happy Mother's Day sweet Sue. Hugs
wonderful! lovely post! I love that sculpture!
Happy Mother's Day to you, my dear!
Same to you! I think I've really struggled with this call in my life. I hope someday at the judgement bar...I won't be judged harshly. I don't think I was wired for the job right.
I have always loved this statue.
So true, they teach us so much don't they? Beautiful post :-)
Blessings,
Marcia
Being a mother is truly a blessing (most of the time). Happy Mother's Day to you!
As always Sue your post make me happy! I am so glad you shared this with us today it is beautiful.
After getting to know your mom I can see the similarities in you both and what a blessing you both are to your children and us.
Sue I appreciate you coming by and trying to lift me up while I make this painful transition back to work. Can not tell you how much your standing by me means.
I think if this had not been a day off for me I would of never made it the fourth day. Don't have a clue what I am going to do.
On top of all this Christi moved home because she is too afraid to stay where she was in Austin after her attack. So now Tinkerbell and I have to figure out what to do with her dog. hahahaha Plus no closets in this ole farm house is a challenge too.
Gosh I should of sent you an email .....sorry
Have a very Happy Mothers Day
Love ya
Maggie
So lovely, Sue. Sure hope you're enjoying this day!
I too am grateful to be a mother. It has been the greatest joy of my life. Although I am also beginning to realize that the phase of life I am in now is even better than when my kids were all small. Most of my kids are adults and the grandchildren are coming. I enjoy my children's friendship and love seeing how they interact with their babies. It is all so much fun. I understand now better than ever why we will have joy and rejoicing in our posterity! (Not that everything is perfect, by any means, but there is ample joy.)
Happy Mother's Day!
I've always wanted to be a mom too, Sue! It's the best thing that has ever happened to me.
I hope you had the best Mother's Day ever!
Being a mom has so many ups and downs and you remind me of the positives.
Thanks
Being a mother is the hardest yet most wonderful job in the world!
