Did you ever realize that stories have shapes? Famed author Kurt Vonnegut realizes it, and this little piece of schitck by him is one of the most clever things I've seen recently. Please excuse his French (only once, thankfully!) and listen to this, because his wit is so sparkling it flies in the face of his routinely rumpled looks. What's more, his point happens to be kinda relative to what everyone's talking about today...a royal wedding!
Do listen, please! It is funny, funny, funny...especially for anyone who likes to write (even a blog)!

That was fantastic. So clever. Now why didn't I invent Cinderella? I could be wealthy too!
E stands for Electricity! HA! this was hilarious
That was fabulous! I love Kurt Vonnegut, have ever since I was a teen & started reading him. I have never seen this gem. Thank you so much for sharing it.

so so nice! thanks for sharing, Sue!
Definitely gives food for thought!
Makes me want to go and do that to everything I've ever written. I'm afraid my journal entries wouldn't reach those "highs"!
Wow! How cool was this? I've never heard him speak before. Neat, neat, neat!
Ahhh, Cinderella is my most favorite story--so I guess according to this I am normal. I didn't see the wedding today though, but I have heard a lot about it. I sure wish them the best.
Cinderella...yes! That says it all!
Fun post!
Wow - what a find! Now I need to go pick up one of his books again . . . it's been a LONG time!
Kristin
"She achieves off scale happiness!"
:) Love that line!
He is hysterical! I really enjoyed that. Poor old Cinderella--but I like the infinite happiness ending. And it is pretty fascinating to see the similarity in how stories are told--bad things happen then there is some sort of recovery and "people LOVE that!"
:) Thanks for sharing that, Sue. I hope you have a great weekend!
So funny to think of putting my life story on a graph.....boing...boing....boing....
Oh that was funny - clever man, clever wit.
Great stuff!! Love a good "speech" :)
Funny, I never particularly liked the story of Cinderella and I can't even tell you why. But this was pretty funny. Dick thought so too. Interesting too, to hear the sound of his voice.
SO funny- I loved it
