All Is Not Lost

Last year, in writing a birthday blog for one of my favorite nephews (a talented musician who attended Berklee College of Music in Boston before launching his career with Classixx), I happened to mention that he had been kind enough to obtain a personalized autograph for me from James Taylor when they chatted in the school cafeteria. I then took the opportunity to thoroughly roast said nephew for losing the autograph before managing to get it into my eager hands. (Not that I'm an autograph-seeker, by the way. Quite the opposite. But this is James Taylor, people!)
And my NAME was on it.

Anyway, guess what incredible surprise package I happened to open on Christmas morning, complete with color-coordinated frame? The only thing that would have made it better is if James had used a term of endearment ("fondly" for instance) before signing his name. But the JT dude probably thinks he doesn't know me.

Zoom shot. (Please note music paper.)

Wide Angle. (Please note color-coordinated frame.)

Now, I ask you......What could be better than a nephew who is so tuned in to his aunt's musical preferences that he scores her the autograph of a lifetime, loses it, finds it years later when he's going through some old boxes of stuff, and frames it for Christmas?

That's an easy one. Nuttin'.

Wow, that came fast, Jen. And I think there might be one James Taylor, but the CD is mostly newer stuff.

That's so cool that you have a nephew that loves you so much, and knows that you love James Taylor. Then to frame it for Christmas-what a guy!

Great gift and I like James - he takes me back to me younger years, when my knee and eyes and ears and bod were all working just fine!! You know, before everyone prefaces the report with, "at your age,..."
