Redux

Resurrection Reunion 2, 1945, Sir Stanley Spencer

Redux

Death is a many-splendored thing;

especially when it ends.

The shroud is shed; the raised heart sings

and everyone pretends

that life is bound to be brand new

the second time around,

and all along they knew, just knew

they'd break free from the ground.

I did like this almost light hearted approach. Great job as always.

I'm heading to Chicago for a memorial service for my Sister-in-law. This is a poem of joy and just what I needed. Thanks Sue.

What a great opening!

Death is a many-splendored thing;
especially when it ends.

Now that's what I call an attention grabber. The strong rhythm and rhyme are excellent too. How very satisifying this is, Sue.

The painting is very interesting. I think I will spend some more time looking at it. Your poem was also very interesting, sweet and hopeful.
Blessings!

Oh, i like this .....after all, we could be all dead now and merely waiting to be born to the real world !

Very nice Sue. It continues to surprise me when people say they do not believe in the after life. Yet, I always say to myself….deep down they really know there is!
