We're told that the war in heaven is now being fought on earth. I don't know if we will win or lose this particular skirmish; that's in the Lord's hands. What I do know is that God's plan includes ultimate victory, and those who have sacrificed their time and energy expressing their support of marriage between a man and a woman will be blessed for their efforts in defending the faith.
"And it came to pass that he rent his coat; and he took a piece thereof, and wrote upon it––In memory of our God, our religion, and freedom, and our peace, our wives, and our children––and he fastened it upon the end of a pole" (Alma 46:12).
"And he took the pole, which had on the end thereof his rent coat, (and he called it the title of liberty)..." (Alma 46:13).
"And it came to pass also, that he caused the title of liberty to be hoisted upon every tower which was in all the land, which was possessed by the Nephites; and thus Moroni planted the standard of liberty among the Lamanites" (Alma 46:36).
In the weeks, months and years ahead, may we resolve to do no less.

It has been tougher then I thought it would be 3 months ago when it all started and that pic describes it pretty well. I will be glad when I get to vote tomorrow and put this all behind us...
I thought of the exact same thing after the first broadcast. I started another blog - www.protectingfreedomsprotectingfamilies.blogspot.com specifically to address Prop 8 and the first time I posted, I was thinking of Moroni.
I'm so eager for today to be over. And I'm hoping that Prop 8 is supported enough to pass.
Doesn't it all just make you think, "What in the heck are people thinking?!" I love the picture--"In memory of our God, our religion, and freedom, and our peace, our wives, and our children." (Alma 46:12). Amazing how similar how plight is to that of Captain Moroni in what we fight for.
I was thinking about how God created man and then He created Eve for Adam--not Steve. It was a WOMAN, people!!! Not another man! But, I know as we all do that these people who are trying to change God's ways don't believe in Him anyway. Boy, are they going to have a rude awakening someday--when every knee bows and every tongue confesses.
I so hope and pray that prop 8 passes for all our our sakes.
I, too, hope Prop. 8 passes but I'm worried it won't. I used to live in CA.
We all need to stand up for the right even when it seems like it's the unpopular thing to do.
I like that picture and pray that marriage will not be destroyed.
I found your post surfing the net. Thank-you for sharing your thoughts. I LOVE the picture of Moroni!
