Round the Bend

To climb the hill is hard indeed

but at the top, your soul is freed

to sail beyond your wildest dream

or coast into a tranquil scene.

The pace, of course, is up to you.

Go BIG, or just enjoy the view.

But either way, each journey's end

is always waiting 'round the bend

and better savored with a friend.

 =)

As you can see, my grandson and his buddy are into longboarding these days.
Don't they pursue their new hobby in beautiful surroundings?

Thanks to my talented daughter-in-law for the photos.

They appear to good at lonboarding - the term is new to me. And I'm sure it is enjoyed more with a friend than alone. :)

I tried skateboarding once. I nearly killed myself. Ditto dirt bike riding, at which my brother declared me a complete menace. Unless I'm in a swimming pool or car, my feet need to be on the ground, not wheels!

Lucky boys! What a pretty place. And longboarding uphill is hard! That was really fun.

Wow, not every young long boarder has a grandma who can but words to the action quite like you do!

Is longboarding a new version of skateboarding? Looks like fun and your poem is perfect with the pics. And yes, that is a lovely area where they live!

Wonderful action shots of handsome dudes ~ looks like Fall there ~ ^_^

Yep, longboarding is a throwback to surfing with a longboard. It's getting really popular in California, and from what Brian says, I guess it's getting a lot of play elsewhere, too.

Katie had a longboard that she used at BYU Hawaii. I still love thinking of her sailing home from class on it. Beautiful pictures of the kids - it's beautiful where they live!

My youngest daughter loves her long board! There is a brand new skate park minutes from our home. The photos are lovely and the young people are fearless aren't they?
