Infatuation with the Sea

Infatuation with the Sea
©2012 Susan Noyes Anderson

The members of my family

are all convinced, and quite agree

that there is no match for the sea

in bringing joy to you and me.

Exhilarating is the word.

The music of the waves is heard.

And treasure troves can oft be found

where rocks and sand and shells abound.

There's no place better to explore,

to think upon great things in store...

small wonders, scattered hither and yon...

with someone near to cheer you on.

So much to see, so much to do

so many hidden thrills for you...

Look well, and you are bound to find

surprises that delight your mind.

The miracles lie everywhere

in gifts of nature, made to share.

Sea magic. It's for everyone,

with lots of room beneath the sun,

plenty of hugs from Mom and Dad,

and more fun than you've ever had!

So jump right in, the water's fine.

You'll never have a better time.

A day at the ocean is sublime!

What wonderful memories your
creating for your children.
I've always lived within a few
miles from the sea, no matter
what state or country I've been.
I'm totally a Sea person and
enjoyed your post.

Terrific pictures!! That Heather is susch an excellent photographer. I think it is great that she is taking so many picures of the kids. Just imagine how thrilled they will be to have so many to look at when they grow up.

Of course the poem is super wonderful too! It is so especially nice when you can weave your poetry around your grandchilren and my great grandchilren!!!!

Lovely post with photos and poem Sue! I live near the ocean all my first 15 years of life, and I wish I could again some days before it's too late..

You matched the pictures of your beautiful grandchildren, and your words, so well with that music, that it was almost like watching a video!

Me too! I lived by the Atlantic for many years and now I go to the coast (Pacific) at least twice a year for a week or so. It just fixes anything that may be wrong in my world...

I totally, totally agree! I love the sea! You've captured the joy so wonderfully!

I absolutely loved that and was also glad it wasn't me...unfortunately I do not share your love for the sea - bring me a mountain, a hillside filled with wintry white and a fire burning in the home and I am a very happy camper! Loved all the photos - but especially love the first one! Wonderful.

Oh, Sue! That was delightful! I'm sure the kids will always 'sea' for 'shore' that you 'rock'! What a fun grandma!

Oh wow. I am infatuated with the sea, too, but I sure was never able to express it this well!

What a great link for the letter 'I'.

Those are just wonderful, wonderful captures!

Your words just made the pictures sing, Miss Sue!

Thanks for linking.
