Calypso Night

Wassily Kandinsky
Red Spot II

(Please read while listening to my playlist music.)

Calypso Night
©2012 Susan Noyes Anderson

Listen as the rhythm
of a heated, humid day
meets the drumming of a
fevered, fertile night.

The sun and clouds have dropped
into the sea, simmered away;
now the voodoo moon is
rising, hot and bright.

A sultry dance of orchids
and hibiscus stirs the breeze,
as calypso pulses
magic through your veins.

Your heart beats into music;
passion takes you by degrees.
In the morning, only
memory remains.

It was super cold for us this morning, so I really LOVED reading this, Sue!

Oh yes, words which dance in time with the music. An unusual take on the picture prompt but a refreshing one.That Kandinsky painting is throbbing and pulsating with sound!

Nothing like dancing to our own rhythm is there!
Since my mid 20's I've always worn gold sleepers but have also always worn one earring with something dangling from it, be a gold cross, a gold cat, or a piece of blue beach glass. People sometimes stop me and say: "Oh, do you know one of your earrings is missing?"
It is a conversation piece at times but, as I'm in my late 50's now I like to think of it as my one last piece of being a rebel. LOL
Wear your one earring, and smile ;)

The rhythm of your poem speaks to the rhythm of Kandisky's art. A wonderful connectedness Sue. Thank you for sharing.
