Dinosaur Ratings

I like the brontosaurus

and tyrannosaurus rex.

The diplodocus thrills me;

eoraptors never vex.

A stegosaurus gets my vote,

edaphosaurus too.

Iguanodons and trachodons

could round out any zoo.

But when it comes to dinosaurs,

I have to make this call––

That purple one on TV

really drives me up the wall!

This is so much fun. The purple one isn't my favorite either.

I love you. You love me. We're an insane bunch of mothers who have had way too much purple indoctrination! Bring on the T-Rex!

You always crack me up! Thanks for the laugh and happy alphabethursday!

Is Barney still on TV? My youngest is 7 and we haven't seen the purple guy in awhile. My teen girls are thrilled that some of their teen idols began as Barney kids.

oh i spent a couple of years going quite insane while my child was under the spell of the purple one ... thank goodness that stage is well behind us.

My kids were Barney kids from the beginning of the show. Still don't love it myself.
I've missed you!
And my favorite--elasmosaurus. Just for the record.

Oh the last part about the purple dinosaur made me laugh! I dreaded that time when my kids were young..That voice crawled under my skin!

Amen about the purple one! What is it about Barney that is so annoying? Don't know, but he is!

I was very glad when my boys outgrew the dinosaur stage, because I have a really hard time pronouncing those names!

OMGosh Barney is a Dino Disaster to adults. My grandgal loved him, and we barely made it through that phase. But the rest of the Dino's are pretty cute. Neat Letter D post.

My babies were Barney freaks!!! I actually was pretty grateful for him at the time because he helped me raise my girls while I was going through depression. But I watch him now and I cringe.
I know a couple of boys who will LOVE this poem!!

Are they still showing Barney? My gosh! The kids watching 'em are having kids now. I suppose it's the same as Sesame Street, but (in my mind) Barney doesn't even come close to Kermit, Miss Piggy, and the rest.

I like your poem. Until the last line, I thought how cool for kids. :-)

Okay that has to be my best laugh of the day! I couldn't stand Barney but my fourth child LOVED him! She was always so excited when Barney came on.

Amen!! I went through the Barney Days with my kids and I'm hoping we can find something better to watch when I'm a grandma someday :-D

That should be a children's book- and I have to agree- that particular dinosaur should become extinct soon.

yaya said...

Barney must be nearly extinct...my Grandkiddo had a Barney birthday and we couldn't find any Barney party stuff, wrapping paper, cards...Cute, cute post!

T-Rex! I'm a tyrannosaurus! Biggest meat eater...

I remember when my boys were in the throes of dinosaur fascination. When is that - 1st or 2nd grade? Oh my - we had to go see the LaBrea Tar Pits, and the bones at the museum and read countless dinosaur books. My favorite dinosaur? Tyrannosaurus Rex because my oldest son's name is Rex.

I do remember the dinosaur craze. I don't remember a single kid that wasn't totally into them. That's one reason why I really loved this poem. I still do!! I couldn't stand Barney either, but I do remember how proud I was that most of my grandchildren could name all the dinosaurs. Are kids still into them at all?

Dinamo post! Pun intended. :)

After returning from our visit with family, it was straight to work, but I had yesterday and today off from work, so I hope to get caught up on some blog reading. I also wanted to let you know that one of your comments was drawn for one of the 20% certificate giveaways towards the art that I do. Please come by or let me know if you are interested.

'Dinosaurs'! What a cool, fun D-word! There are lots of them for little boys. I think my son has just left the dinosauer-stage and now his big interest is Indians! His class went to the public library and he borrowed about three books about Indians. (Hmm... Something to think about for the letter 'I' which is coming up rapidly!)

Thank you for visiting my doggie-post. Please return to it because I added another dog!
Best wishes,
Anna

My cat Sara would also extend an invitation to visit her post for ABC-Wednesday, round 7-M. She admires your poetry; so much that she has started to try her paw at writing a little poetry herself:

BHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! I did not see that coming!!! And thank you! hahahaha. Have you ever seen Jurassic Fart on You Tube? You can tell by the title alone it is a bit juvenile...but it's still funny!

Sue, I love this. What a fun and funny link to Alphabe-Thursday!

You always make me laugh and today was especially hard.

Thanks for being so cool.
