Playing Together Is Forever

Leigh is starting another 52 weeks of happiness posts, and I just had to rejoin.
Look for frequent pics of my grandkids, who bring me more joy than I can say.

To play together is a joy

for every girl and every boy.

For siblings, it's a binding tie

that deepens as the years go by.

The game they play counts not at all.

It could be frisbee or football.

It's more the freedom and the fun

that bring them close, when all is done.

Boy or girl, it matters not.

But playing matters quite a lot.

Memories made.

Never fade.

  1. Grandchildren (and great-grandchildren are the reward for raising children, aren't they? I am sad/proud to see mine grow into adulthood, but sure miss the houseful of little feet and voices when the grandkids came to visit.

  11. The neighbor kids all would come to our house and play kickball in the front yard...until my mom planted a tree on second base!! Maybe because there was a picture window right behind first!! So we had to move our field! Lots of years ago!

  14. Lovely and bittersweet. I remember the silly simple games my brothers and I would play. I sometimes wish we could go back to those times, and regain the fun we always had together. But the memories are priceless.

  16. Absolutely loved seeing all those pictures of my darling great grandchildren tonight. Of course I always love the poems that go with them. I especially love this poem........playing together is the tie that binds and they are truly close.

We are hoping they will come over and stay all night so that they can pick tangerines. I talked to Heather tonight and they are going to let me know...they really want to come but weekends are tough for them because of all their activities. I can only hope.
