Home Invasion (the good kind)

We had a few young people over to fill up our living room last night.
empty rooms bore us

It was what we like to call a "fireside."
in keeping with the occasion, we actually lit a fire

What's on the tube?
a CES (Church Educational System) broadcast

They look pretty interested, don't they?
I didn't hear a peep out of 'em

They couldn't all fit in one room, so we used two.
hello, family room

Good thing we are the DVR masters.
well, at least we didn't screw it up this time

What's up with that pillow guy on the couch?
guess he's camera shy

Of course, food was the order of the day evening.
ain't it always

They grabbed some on the way in and on the way out.
these guys are equal opportunity eaters

Glad they stuck around afterwards to brighten our lives for awhile.
these two are pretty shiny =)

And also to chat each other up, of course.

Girls do love to chat.

Guys, too, right?
too bad they have to do it behind light fixtures

Some prefer to do their chatting as couples.

And some like to make faces at the camera lady...
nice one, Luke

THANKS FOR COMING OVER, EVERYBODY.
SEE YA FOR FAMILY HOME EVENING LATER THIS MONTH!
(bring your appetites)

  1. I love that you have such a good time hosting them. It makes me wish I were one of your YSAs. Almost.

  2. I've gotten behind on my blogs since we spent the weekend in UT. I LOVED your post on mothering. I even had to mention it to pregnant Heidi.
And you are such a perfect couple for these YSA. They are lucky to have you.

  3. That looks like so much fun. My in-laws just e-mailed yesterday that they got their YA center up and running in Prague. They're so excited. They're on a mission over there, and they're always writing about how many YA's they're feeding.

  5. Just say "food" and most YSA will be there! Looked like it was fun and how nice to have such a happy and big group. We like to have similar get togethers with the YM/YW, only usually it involves an outside fire...costumes sometimes...or lots of snow for sledding!
