Umbrellas offer solid proof
that weather's not in vain.
Surely a drop of rain deserves
a bit of notice.
What shoddy arrogance denies
the weeping skies in
heads left bare and
hats left home?

is any less than an affront.
A front deserves respect.
This rain works hard for you.
Don't dis the dew.

ReplyDeleteGreat photo, Degas could have done a painting like this, it reminds me of him and his paintings of people in parks, often with umbrellas. I like your poem too.

I'm afraid there's a lot of soggy arrogance here in the Northwest. The rain may fall softly most of the time, but it's still wet. I've come to appreciate hoods, as well as umbrellas!
