Hands speak volumes, do they not?
One is holding firm and taut,
while the other lies quiescent.
Shouldn't love be effervescent?

Maybe she is not on board
and hopes that he will feel ignored
if she responds with digits snoring,
proof that her hand finds his boring.

Or perhaps I've judged too soon.
She may think he hung the moon
and want to nestle in his palm,
surrendering without a qualm.

Either way, here is my thought:
(feel free to disagree or not)
Handholding is more profound
with all ten fingers curled around.

  1. both fingers need to curl, for sure. You've got to hold on to what you've got!!

  3. Love this! It's so true!

Sometimes it's nice just to be at peace with someone you trust, though.

  18. There's always a technique in holding hands and there are varieties. Invariably it'll be warm and tender. Nicely Sue!

  21. I love it!! I do agree that all fingers have to be curled around. Interesting that she seems to be more agressive. That would be me, too. I love holding hands, but it has to be tight. This is one of my favorites and it probably took you minutes. At any rate, it's a good one.

  25. Ha! That last line caught me by surprise. We should all have someone we can hold hands with like that, all curled around.

  27. Exactly!! Fascinating and brilliant, Sue. You are a brilliant writer.

And I agree the best hand holding is the kind that both feel the same: 100% invested! :)
