Today, let's pause and look around.
Across the Bay, much joy is found.
Our 49ers are Bowl-bound!
How lucky can one city be?
from winning pennants by the sea
to lighting Union Square's grand tree?
Just take a trolley to the ocean
(Pier 39 inspires devotion),
then watch a play, if that's your notion.
We've got it all...catch the ballet...
or catch a wave at Half Moon Bay...
the spot where famous surfers play.
Find views that no one can ignore,
or take a jog along the shore.
She always leaves you wanting more.
The City by the Bay.
GOOD LUCK, NINERS!

Oh my gosh great photos, good music, and on my last trip to San Fran we stayed in Fisherman's wharf! One of my favorite pastimes there was of course people watching and catching the street entertainers down there! My fave was getting my picture taken with a man and his all doggie band!
ReplyDeleteWho would have thought two champ teams in on year! Good luck 49rs!
ReplyDeleteGreat shots! I would love to visit San Francisco -- I always love the photos of the trolleys going up and down those hills!
ReplyDeletesmiles...i need to make it back...some beautiful sights...and def congrats on the 49ers...i am pulling for them...been far too long since i was on that shore....
ReplyDeleteMy daughters are trying to convince me to take a girl's trip there. You're adding to the temptation.
ReplyDeleteoh my, now I need to take a trip to the coast...
ReplyDeleteOh, you are so great and San Fran should pay you for this great tribute to their city! My only wish is that Steve Young still played for the 49ers...:)
ReplyDeletegood luck 49ers! I used to live in SF in the late 70s. I wish I had gone out more and visited the tourist sites, but I just had my own little path to school and stores and home again. Never have been a party animal... {:-Deb
ReplyDeleteGreat poem. I love San Francisco.
ReplyDeleteOy! What can I say? Photos of a beautiful city. Photos of one of my favorite style of house. Beautiful just beautiful. And, on top of that, musical background that is perfect! Lovely j post.
ReplyDeleteI used to be quite a Forty Niners Fan when Steve Young played there. I am not that into pro ball as much these days, still, I am glad you guys are, and I do wish those 49ers lots of luck.
ReplyDeleteBy the way, I did enjoy the poem and pictures. Some of them brought back some pretty neat memories of S.F.
I love it up there. This post was very tempting...
ReplyDeleteOH Sue I simply loved your post tonight. What an amazing city and how I would love to visit it one day.

ReplyDeleteSomeone likes their San Francisco. Great city.
ReplyDeleteWonderful captures - itching now to return there!
ReplyDeleteYour poem and pictures gives me a better impression of SF than I usually have. I have a hard time with the all the houses and buildings close together. But really, you remind me of why I liked it so much as a child. My Dad grew up there and so loves that city.
ReplyDeletegreat photos and words, sue! i loved visiting sf!
ReplyDeleteIt looks beautiful. One day I will get out to actually see it in person. One day.
ReplyDeleteI've never been to SF but it's on the list! Only you could write a fun poem about football and mix in the beauty of a lovely city. Good job and good luck to the team!
ReplyDeleteThe city must be alive with excitement!
ReplyDeleteSF should give you a commission!
ReplyDeleteAhhh . . . one of my favorite places . . . I think I left my heart there once upon a time . . .
