Taking Leave

Jenny has used one of those lovely signs (shown below) that she makes for her Etsy shop as her inspiration for Saturday Centus this week. We are allowed the usual 100 words plus the prompt, along with whatever pictures we choose to display. This week, the prompt can be recognized by its italics.

(As you can see, I am displaying Jenny's very cool sign!)

How beautifully leaves grow old.

 In glory, they slip away.

Crimson and scarlet adorn them,

as they skitter along at play.

One day, I shall follow their lead,

though my hair be tinged with gray.

I'll dub it silver, don red shoes,

dance off in gold lamé.

Love it, Love it, LOVE IT! Sue those pics are beautiful. Coming from Florida and not really have changes in seasons I can remember the first time I saw Fall leaves. It was magical. It took my breathe away!~Ames

This is the time of year I love. I love all our color now. Your pics are so beautiful and I love the poem. I also love that sign! I never thought to equate my growing older with the fall leaves...I will from now on! Plus I'm getting me some cool red shoes ASAP!

Sorry I've been so absent, Jill. We've been vacationing but will return home next week sometime. I will catch up with all my favorite bloggers then!

perfect pictures to go with perfect words...it gives me pause to reflect upon why I love fall so much. The last glorious show of colors before the silent barren winter.

Your words flow like the leaves from the trees. They elegantly drift!

You could totally rock gold lame, too, Miss Sue.

That made me smile. We should take a lesson from the leaves and go out in a vibrant blaze of beauty.
