On Friends and Fondness

©2003, His Children, Susan Noyes Anderson (poetry only)

My friend and I go all around;

together, we are always found.

Sometimes we run and shout and play;

sometimes we sit upon the ground.

My friend and I could talk all day

or just be quiet. Either way,

we always find enough to do;

we always find enough to say.

My friend and I are tried and true...

when skies are gray, when skies are blue.

We don't give up. We laugh. We cry.

We love each other, through and through.

We're lucky ones, my friend and I.

We watch the golden hours fly

and earn what only time can buy,

and earn what only time can buy.

Thanks to all of my friends.

    I love those people that are tried and true friends, and also those friends that you don't know in person- but count as a friend anyway.

  28. Your pictures are wonderful and your point well taken! The older I get, the more friends mean to me...just like my soul sister over at "Whispering Pines"....we are not blood related (married to cousins) but we are truly connected and more so as we grow older together. It means the world! Good Post!

  29. Terrific, as usual. I still find it amazing that you can find so many neat pictures to go along with your poetry, especially today, when you had to depict so many different friends. Good job.

  37. Sue, you are amazing. What a beautiful poem you have written! Great choice of photos to illustrate your beautiful words.

    Thank you for visiting and commenting on my meager F-post.

    I don't like using photos from the Web, when I know I have photos of my own. So I have revised my F-post slightly.

    I would like to invite you to revisit my F-post whenever you have the time and inclination.

    Best wishes,
    Anna

  38. This was amazing.

    It made me teary eyed.

    It made me miss some of my friends who are long gone...and some who have not been gone for long.

    Miss Sue.

    You really touched my heart here.

    May I send a copy of this to a far away friend going through some awful things?

    Thank you for linking to Alphabe-Thursday. You are a true artist with words.
