Time Stops for No One

time stops for no one
but if i
sit down and freeze
blink neither eye
lock up my hands
and curl my toes
into the ground
who really knows
perhaps the rush
of time will end
till i can catch
my second wind

or do i merely
clutch at straws
full knowing time
has teeth and claws

the daisies are
no safety clause

Don't want to burst your (lovely) bubble ... time will not stop ~ for anyone or anything. I enjoyed this.

Love how the quick pace reflects the passage of time.

Time certainly does have teeth and claws sometimes, doesn't it? This is lovely!

I can relate to this one too well! Lately I've been feeling borderline panic because time moves so swiftly....like there must be SOME way to slow it down!

Very thoughtful. But I wonder if we can learn to stop for time??

i dont think you can burrow those toes deep enough...and those that try to fight the passage of time surely get the teeth and claws...

Excellent job and the quick pace gave the impression that time does not wait

When my Mom was visiting I kept thinking about time..looking at her and realizing that she has aged..gracefully...yet not without the problems like falls, and breaks and eyesight and hearing loss. She lead a simple but remarkable life. I admire her fighting spirit against those "teeth and claws"! I hope to be as vigilant because time is grabbing at me too!

I want to be free of time. It is such a constraint on me. I like stretching light a cat, breathing deep, and letting go of time.

Bravo, excellent magpie, it stirs deeply. I could feel the bite, and that's me you hear crying, ouch!

As we age do we worry more and more about the passing of time...or will we eventually enter into a stage where we accept time and what it does to us? I wonder.

Lately I have felt exactly like that. So far I haven't found any way around it, except to not let it catch me up in Crazy Town. Tomorrow will come and I can pick up whatever I was doing today again. When time shows it's teeth I try not to flinch, but instead lay on extra essential oil in a lovely scent!

:D if only. What a sweet poem. I think it embodies the wish of most people's hearts. Especially for mothers!

Sue, you have a gift for bringing words together into your lovely poetry.

Ah yes, if time would but a moment stop..."to catch my wind"...or stop, to relish in a moment of the happy times with those that have passed...or with the memories of times with any of our dear loved ones.

Blessings & Aloha!
I am visiting our grand baby, so will not be posting this week...maybe next or then again, maybe not til I get back in 3 weeks. ...but I wanted to be sure to stop and catch up with the T posts. (time stopping for me to catch up with blog visits would be helpful too :o)

I don't know how you do it; but you continue to just amaze me. I am sure I have mentioned before you need to publish a book of poetry
Blessings!

I will have to give this one a try, as I would agree time continues to roll on at break neck speed :)
