How Many Colors of Green...?

Green is the color of life, growing free.

How many colors of green do you see?

Mint by the flag, near a shrub called nandina.

Star jasmine, fragrant as any gardenia.

Green agipantha leaves, sagey green stems...

Birch leaves that sparkle like emerald gems...

Lilies, grass, ferns, bushes, roses, and more...

Manicured trees by the sliding glass door.

Green near the water to make your swim jolly...

Pine trees and conifers, palm trees and holly.

Green springs like life from the earth (and green thumbs)...

But watch out for green snakes, when suppertime comes!

I look at colors so differently since I began rug hooking. A field used to be just green -- now I look at all the different shades and variations. Its amazing what you see.....when you are truly looking.

Green is one of my favorite colors - many shades so cool and refreshing. But why would you only watch out for green snakes when suppertime comes? I would watch out for them ALL the time! (Pretty little guy, though, huh?)

I could sure use your green thumb.

Karen-

I was thinking green snakes might be most likely to nibble on my green thumb at suppertime.

Yikes on the snake. That is the problem with working in the garden....well for some. I might jump but they fascinate me. Lots of greens. Thanks for stopping by my blog. I believe your artwork might be in the garden. Everyone is creative.

I never knew you had a pretty yard like that, it reminds me of the secret garden. And I love green- every shade, it's my favorite of all

How many blogs do you have, Sue? I just put one of your blogs on my special 'Closet-Swede'-blogger-blogroll! And here you have one more!
Well, I'll just have to put this one on the list too!

Very nice post for Rainbow Green. Your thought are similar to mine: green means the growth of plants, basically. (Love the green thumb! Who's was it?)
Your green snakes are beautiful. But I am not very fond of snakes. It's enough for me to see a picture of them.
Hope you have a wonderful weekend!
Best wishes,
Anna

When you think about it...there really is a lot of green in this world. Probably then most other colors...it is the symbol of life.
You don't find it as much where I'm at though.

You have quite an array of plants and flowers in your garden! So pretty.

I love seeing all of the great , gorgeous greenery growing in your garden. It's the perfect color for outside.

For inside I prefer beautiful blues, pretty pinks and wonderful whites.

Good pics and poem!

Green is my absolute favorite color. I was reading this earlier and a certain little almost-two-year-old of mine started pressing buttons and my computer froze. I just now re-booted and made certain nothing was broken.:))
Oh and if those are pictures of your yard--it is gorgeous--speaking of green thumbs!

:)

What wonderful verse, and beautiful photos for our Green week. Well, except for that last one - I am ridiculously phobic about those things with no legs :)

And that is why green is my favorite color. Also, I really miss the California Jasmin. That is my all time favorite smell in the world. Oh how I miss it.

wonderful post, loved all the pics...we have a pic somewhere of one of those green snakes in one of our bushes, they are quite attractive and not poisonous at all.
Thanks for a delightfully green visit!
