I went to England once.
London, not Manchester.
Rained cold, a bit sideways.
Dark, dreadful, dingy.
Under the weather.
I ran watered streets.
Unbooted, blithely undone.
Up, down, willy nilly.
Slowed through Piccadilly.
Magic.

ReplyDeletemagic...yes!
ReplyDeleteWet and cold... I think that's why you have rubber boots.
ReplyDeleteI do believe that I was there on the same day!
ReplyDeleteI love the contrast of the wet and cold with the surprise of "Magic."
ReplyDeleteFunny, when I was in London also rained every day!
ReplyDeleteWonderful prose Sue! It conjured up vivid images of rain!

ReplyDeleteIt's the magic part of life that sometimes keeps us going!
ReplyDeleteI think you wrote that poem about Ohio! It's the gray season..cold, gray skies and we had all the rain on Sunday. But your poem made England and it's weather magical and I thank you!
