Susan's Season

Autumn in Madeira - Jacek Yerka

Susan's Season
©2014 Susan Noyes Anderson
Fall is a cozy season, made
to match my patchwork house.
What better spot for cider hot,
doughnuts for man
and holes for mouse?

Fall is a spicy season, round
as pumpkins, brisk as tea.
Red-orange leaves tumble from trees,
crunch crunch and crumble,
all for me.

  1. I love Fall! It's harvest time and colorful beyond belief in upstate New York. The smells are awesome from the apple cider to the wagon loads of sweet smelling hay. Yes, this is my favorite time of year.

  2. I'll offer doughnuts for man but oh no holes or anything for any mice! Hehehe, but I would rather they stay far from my house! Sue, this is a most enjoyable poem for this lovely time of year!

  11. May I join you in your season for Susan? Our leaves have turned and the warm spell we've had turns cold and wet on Saturday...perfect for that hot cider and donuts!
