No Bridges

No Bridges
©2013 Susan Noyes Anderson

Stand beside me.

Make me stretch

my branches high,

transcend the morning sky

with me; don't count

my rings and ridges.

Crowd me a little,

just enough to warm.

Remind me our love

needs

no

bridges.

  9. Since Jack is so much taller than me I do have to stretch my branches! Thankfully, he knows better than to count the "rings" on me! Ha! As always, a lovely poem!

  16. Very meaningful love poem, Sue. I love trees and rocks, their solidity always capable of outliving us; giving us a sense of permanence.

Judy Collins' "Since You Ask" is a bonus. Lovely meaningful song.

  19. So beautiful, Sue! You write the most lovely verses. I wish you could see your Fruit of the Vine poem framed and hanging proudly in my parent's home. They treasure it.
