Infatuation with the Sea
©2012 Susan Noyes Anderson
The members of my family
are all convinced, and quite agree
that there is no match for the sea
in bringing joy to you and me.
Exhilarating is the word.
The music of the waves is heard.
And treasure troves can oft be found
where rocks and sand and shells abound.
There's no place better to explore,
to think upon great things in store...
small wonders, scattered hither and yon...
So much to see, so much to do
so many hidden thrills for you...
Look well, and you are bound to find
surprises that delight your mind.
The miracles lie everywhere
in gifts of nature, made to share.
Sea magic. It's for everyone,
with lots of room beneath the sun,
plenty of hugs from Mom and Dad,
and more fun than you've ever had!
So jump right in, the water's fine.
You'll never have a better time.
A day at the ocean is sublime!

What wonderful memories your
ReplyDeletecreating for your children.
I've always lived within a few
miles from the sea, no matter
what state or country I've been.
I'm totally a Sea person and
enjoyed your post.
Sandy
What a wonderful poetic post inspired by the sea. Truly it is a great place to be.
ReplyDeleteI couldn't agree more. It is one of my most favorite places.

ReplyDeleteMe too! I lived by the Atlantic for many years and now I go to the coast (Pacific) at least twice a year for a week or so. It just fixes anything that may be wrong in my world...
ReplyDeleteI totally, totally agree! I love the sea! You've captured the joy so wonderfully!
ReplyDeleteI absolutely loved that and was also glad it wasn't me...unfortunately I do not share your love for the sea - bring me a mountain, a hillside filled with wintry white and a fire burning in the home and I am a very happy camper! Loved all the photos - but especially love the first one! Wonderful.
ReplyDeleteIt is, it is. I miss the sea, for sure!
ReplyDeleteOh, Sue! That was delightful! I'm sure the kids will always 'sea' for 'shore' that you 'rock'! What a fun grandma!
ReplyDeleteI agree - there's nothing better to cheer your soul and calm your mind. I'll bet you're getting super excited! Looking forward to seeing you, whenever that is!
