A Christmas Devotional for FHE

Last night the young adults from the ward my husband is Bishop
of came to our home to watch the Christmas devotional on TV.

We call our Monday night get-togethers Family Home Evening, and
since many of them live away from home, being with "family" matters
a lot, especially at Christmas. How we love spending time with them.

As you can see, we had the TV going in two rooms!

What a crowd. You can bet this chair didn't stay empty for long.

Those guys on the couch look pretty relaxed, don't they?

But not quite as relaxed as the ones on the floor!

Oops! Look like somebody caught my camera peeking in on them!

Of course, we fed 'em, too. (These guys were the last to chow down.)

(It was prettier before we removed the pineapple.) We made four of
these, but we still have a whole one left in our refrigerator. They went
through almost all of the four batches of funeral potatoes though!

Wish I had taken a picture before instead of during!

Sorry the photos are kind of grainy, but it was dark, and I used my phone instead of my camera because I was too lazy to get up and do it right. We did have a wonderful evening, and that last person left in the wee hours of the morning. No wonder I am yawning as I write!

  4. Our Singles Ward is an hour away. I don't think they do these nice things like you do since everyone is so spread out. I bet it's really fun to hang out with these young people and feel their energy (except for the ones on the floor!). I thought the Christmas Devotional was really nice and I'm sure everyone at your home enjoyed it too!

  7. If I were the parent of one of these young people, I'd be SO happy to see these photos.
The other thing that occurred to me is that you and the young people really bless one another. Wow!

  11. What fun. I tried to sit and listen. But with 5 little kids, I heard about half of it. No worries. DVR is my best friend. I will watch it tomorrow while I run!

  12. I know how tired you must have been. It looks like it was a great success as all of your evenings with the kids are. I know how they must love Dave as their Bishop. He is so good with the youth. It will be so nice when he can retire next year and have more time to be with them AND YOU!! I know you will love this too. Does Ryan ever come to these get togethers?

We still have the Devotional to watch. We've hardly had a moment since we got home from Nancy's. Dick's at the church tonight, so maybe tomorrow we will get to watch it. Better late than never.
