Appreciating Autumn

Autumn is a feeling,

and it takes you for a ride.

It puts you in the driver's seat

and welcomes you inside.

Fall paints as many colors as

a rainbow, bright and bold,

and teaches you to find what's true

in orange, red, and gold.

It shows you what you're made of,

and the harvesting feels good.

Hard work is never wasted

when you've done the best you could.

To reap a great reward brings joy

and deep reflection, too.

The heart remembers all is well,

and love belongs to you.

As seasons come and seasons go,

every end is new.

=)

  1. Had to do that because usually I am at work in the morning and I never get to be first :-D (wink)

Beautiful prose and pictures Sue - Fall is my favorite - you nailed it the colors, the harvesting, the cute kiddo's!

That picture towards the end of all the seasons is beautiful - Heavenly Father has blessed us so much with a beautiful and changing world!

  4. That was amazing. I'm trying to figure out if you got the pictures first and then made the poem to go with it?

  8. I have to agree with everyone above. You wove a wonderful prose through words and photos. And I enjoyed the song that accompanied this post...I used to sing that, as a lullaby, to my sweet baby girl.

  14. Oh my gosh! This one really made me cry. I know, I cry very easily so that is nothing special. It is, however, very special that you could write such a beautiful poem about autumn and be able to so perfectly use pictures of your own grandchildren for every thought in each line. Just goes to show, that even though you hate for me to mention it, you, my dear talented daughter, are a supreme poet, and a supreme illustrator. Of course it helped that Heather took a half million pictures of the kids.

  22. Hi Sue, I got you comment on my blog no problem. My old blog is healthy again. Thanks for your interest in my blog. I'll send you my email but I can read. I think that your blog photos are special and your poem is very well done. I sure hope that your mom is feeling a bit better today than she was feeling yesterday. God heals but it takes time. Take care, Julia

  27. So, I have to know which came first: the photos or the words. I feel like it could have gone either way this time because the pairing is seamless.

  36. Oh Sue.

I'm not sure what's up with me at the moment but I'm just sitting here crying like a baby over this post.

Well, actually not crying like a baby. I'm not all damp and cute...I'm a drippy mess.

I really love your style Sue.

Thanks for blessing us by sharing your talents!

    Hugs and A+
