  2. Yep it's that time isn't it! Our grands have already gone back to school. And we started months ago buying for the new year and packing it away in Rubbermaid containers until it was time for school.~Ames

  10. The only thing additional I would add is a new jumper. I always liked a new jumper to wear to school.

  16. I would have loved a backpack when I was a kid..and I so looked forward to new shoes! We used to have to bring a new pair of tennis shoes for gym the first day too...then when the year was over I was always bummed out because they looked new still and yet they didn't fit anymore! Your Grandkiddos are so cute!

  23. That's all I seem to spend my money on these days. I turn around and someone else has grown out of their shoes.
Me, personally, I love a good shoe...tennies are my favs.

  24. My kids would always inform everyone that their new shoes were "speedy" shoes. Then they'd run as fast as they could to prove their point.
What a cute grandson you have!

New shoes make me happy too! I just sent off a box to my wee grandsons in the east, with two pairs of shoes for each of them.

  27. Who doesn't like new shoes? Especially if they fit! I guess I am going to have to donate most of my shoes because they all hurt my feet since I have this awful neuropathy that causes my nerve pain in my left leg my back. I guess I am going to have to bite the bullet and buy some of those shoes that my friend Verna bought. They cost about $250 or more. She has the same problem that I have, Hers isn't caused from diabetes either.

I do love the look of brand new shoes and they look so cute on our wonderful grandhildren, your grand and my great grand. That Bryce is so darned cute. The other day Dick was looking at his pictures and he said, "Bryce is the cutest boy I have ever seen!" He is so photogenic and he is so used to having his picture taken that he ought to be a model, although I know Heather would never allow it.

  28. You can feel it in the air! Fall, school...there's such an electric feeling with it all.

But I'm finding myself struggling not to feel envious of the moms who just started sending kiddos off. Summer was too short!

  31. Ah yes, the new shoes!! That was always a big day for my kids. Although we did have a disaster once. I had just bought new shoes for my second grade daughter and my kindergarten son when they decided to race them in the house to see who was the fastest. My daughter tripped and fell--and broke both of her arms. It was two days before school started and a day before I went into labor with my fourth daughter.

    Fun times. :-)
