    Food always tastes better at the beach..or anywhere outdoors actually! I wish I was ending my summer in such a beautiful and delightful way! Plus, I could use a little tan...

    I feel a little like a traitor to say that I really like fall. Summer is such an awesome season, but there is something about fall that I love...the smell, the feel, the leaves, the return to routine somewhat, I don't know. And we get incredible winters here, but I have things that I do inside that makes me not really care what goes on outside. I'm good with it...but it always seems sad to see summer go...

    Kids always love the water. I know how much I used to when I was young. Didn't get much opportunity to get wet though unless it was to run through the sprinklers. But that was fun.

    When you guys were young, we took you to the beach fairly often and that was fun, especially after your father joined the Del Mar Beach Club. It was so sophisticated, our own lockers and everything. No dragging sand into the car or house...........those were the days.

    I still like the water, only just the pool. I can't imagine going into the ocean to swim like we used to. We used to swim out pretty darned far, didn't we? Just you and I. Now I can't even walk out to the ocean from the beach house. I often wish it weren't such a long trip out there. Of course I could always walk on the side walk as far as I could go and then head into the sand. Maybe I will try that next year.

    In the meantime, it is fun to watch the kids having their fun time in the water, whether it is in our pool, or just looking at the pictures Heather so beautifully takes.
