Winning and Innings Make Me Happy...

Baseball makes me happy...and winning, too! On the mound is our nephew, Brian Anderson, who pitches for the San Jose Giants (a farm team for the SF Giants). Brian's team just won back-to-back California state championships, which makes four championships in the last six years. Not a bad team to root for, and we have a ball (pun definitely intended) every time we hit the park.

Of course, everyone else has a ball, too...

adorable little babies included!

It really is fun to get that old-time feel in a small venue like this.

Silly games & hijinks between innings make cheering for the team more fun.

And here he is, folks. Brian Anderson, relief pitcher.

Getting ready for the big wind-up.

And the equally big release.

(He looks good from far away, too.)

Yep. That's our guy! =)

PS. More on happiness here. (It's the sequel to this one.)

  4. I prefer smaller games too- they're more fun, and usually cheaper too. I never realized how far away the mound really is from home plate til I was on the field once- your nephew must have some crazy good skills.

  6. Awesome Pictures! It brought back memories which is always good. I was practically raised on a ball field. My father coached the town team for years and my brothers played in every possible sport. I remember playing under the bleachers. The discussions after the games was also boring for me at the time; but enlightening for my brothers and father.
Anyway, I enjoyed this post! Blessings to you! LeAnn

  11. Sorry, I'm just not a baseball fan. The game is far too slow for me. However, I am interested to know that Brian is playing for the San Jose Giants. I know Bruce and Gail are pretty proud of him. I'm glad you go to some of his games though.

  13. Mom- I bet you would have gone to games and enjoyed them if one of your nephews had been playing. Would you have gone to see Freddy if he'd been trying to get on with a professional baseball team? Of course you would! It's exciting when you love them...

    =)
