A Taste of San Francisco

Last week my son and I went to dinner in San Francisco.

He lives there...my husband works there...but I only visit.

This is the Golden Gate Bridge as seen from Sports Basement.

And a little peek at Crissy Field, with Alcatraz in sight.

Here's a bit of the Bay up close...

And a bit of the Bay from further away.

Tell me this city isn't beautiful.

No, don't bother. I won't believe you.

The eyes don't lie. It's heaven.

Coming...

Going...

Or somewhere in between...

Sheer heaven.

  6. I have to tell you Sue that your blog sometimes makes me really homesick!! I have never regretted moving to Idaho to raise our family but I sometimes miss the Bay Area! We visit quite often because we still have family there :D

That last picture is so cool!

  7. How you describe SF is how many people describe it. Yet, when I am there I just want to go home. It feels so claustrophobic. But I do remember this one night when we arrived late and the city was dark but those tall buildings lit up beautifully and I was in AWE. Then I got a little taste of what people are talking about. It is definitely a very unique city.

  8. I've never been but it looks amazingly beautiful. Now this post makes me want to visit even more. I have a friend who lives in Mill Valley (not sure how close that is b/c I'm totally unfamiliar with the area) but maybe one day we'll visit her and make a trip to see the famous San Fran.

  10. I will always love San Francisco - so many of my college friends were from there, and your music brought me right back to that time. Just add "Layla" and we're there! LaMar and I took a trip there a few years ago - stayed right in the city just up from Union Square. We had so much fun - I think it's time for another visit! Nice post...

  11. I too love San Francisco, but to me it will always be "The City." When I lived in Richmond, we never went to the City unless we were dressed in our best, and we always wore hats and gloves!! The people there make it seem different to me, but you are right, it is still beautiful and I will always have a soft spot in my heart for it. I just wish I could get Dick to drive in San Francisco. He is such a good driver, but for some reason that place drives him crazy when he is driving and he just wants to get out of there. Of course, if someone else were driving, I'm sure he would like it a lot more. But that is the reason we hardly ever go there anymore.

  15. I love that last shot- of the sky through the tall buildings- so pretty. My only experience with San Fransisco was my friends making me drive their car, since it was a manual, up the steep hills. So I didn't get to see very much, as I was concentrating on not rolling back and hitting the car behind me.
